New Auction Listing

Auction listings are similar to other auction listings such as EBay. To add a new auction listing, click on the New Auction menu item under the Listing Queue menu on the left of the My Account Page.

1. The first thing you are asked is to choose a main category for your listing. Choose from either the top level categories, or select the top category, and then one of the subcategories until you find the correct place to list your new ad. (i.e., if you hunt elk in Colorado in one of the GMUs, you would select, Hunts, Guides, Outfitters; then Elk Hunting, then Colorado Elk Hunting, then select the GMU unit you hunt in.) When you finish selecting a category, the page will refresh for the next step.

2. This step requires that you add some information for your auction listing. Enter the following:

A. Select the length to run the ad from the dropbox.

B. Add the Title for your advertisement.

C. Enter a Description. (If you need help with the WYSIWYG editor, please see this page.)

3. Now you need to add the information for the auction.

A. Select the type of Auction from the dropbox. (i.e., standard or dutch) When the seller only has one item to list in the auction, it will be a "standard auction". Typically, when the seller has two or more of an identical item, it will be a "dutch auction". These two auction types are described below:

STANDARD AUCTION
In a standard auction all bidders bid against each other, and the highest bidder at the end of the auction is the winner of the item, assuming the winning bid has surpassed the "reserve amount" as specified by the seller when the seller listed the auction. In a standard auction there is only ONE winning bidder.

DUTCH AUCTION
In a dutch auction the seller is offering two or more of an identical item for auction. Unlike a standard auction, a dutch auction MAY HAVE MORE THAN ONE winning bidder.

Each bidder bids on either all, or a desired number of the auction items, and indicates the price that he/she is willing to pay for each of item. At the end of the auction, all winning bidders will pay the same price for each of their items, which is the lowest qualifying (successful) bid. If there are more successful bids than items available, priority goes to the bidders who submitted their bids first.

In order to beat another bidder, a bid must simply have a higher total bid price per item than the other bids, regardless on the number of items that are being bid on.

B. Add the quantity of hunts/trips you have to offer.

C. Set the auction start and end time.

D. Use the dropbox to change the length of time to run the ad.

E. Enter your minimum starting bid.

F. Enter the reserve price (minimum you will accept for payment)

G. Enter the Buy Now price, and if it is Buy Now Only check the box to the right of the Buy Now Price.

H. Now choose your payment type options.

4. Now you need to add your Contact & Location Information.

A. Add/Change the email address for people to contact you.

B. Add your phone number(s).

C. Add your street Address.

D. Add your City.

E. Add your Country.

F. Add your State.

G. Add your ZipCode.

5. The next step is adding Mapping Fields for the display of where the hunts are located.

A. Add the Mapping Address.

B. Add the Mapping City.

C. Add the Mapping Country.

D. Add the Mapping State.

E. Add the Mapping Zip.

5. All that is left is to complete the detailed information by clicking on the Next Step button at the bottom of the page.

The rest of the process includes adding images, and choosing the extras you want added to the listing such as featured status and attention getters.

The last step places the listing in the cart queue. By clicking on Process Queue the listing will be added to the Hunters Domain website.
